MYP 1 Artists Exploring Perspective in the Real World

Our MYP 1 (Year 7) students experienced a unique learning opportunity during a special Visual Arts session with guest speakers architect Mr. Malek Assaad, interior designer Mme. Lisa Abir Zahra, and painter Mr. Nicolas Wayo.

As part of their unit, “Illusions of Space: Mastering Perspective in Art,” students explored how one-point and two-point perspective are applied in architecture, interior design, and artistic expression. Through engaging discussions and portfolio showcases, the speakers demonstrated how principles of depth, proportion, and spatial relationships shape real-world creative work.

The session allowed students to see how classroom learning connects to professional practice, encouraging them to think creatively and critically about visual storytelling and design.

This experience reflects the Vision 2030 pillar: ARIS Innovates, where learning extends beyond the classroom and students are inspired by real-world expertise, creative thinking, and meaningful connections with professionals in the field.
